Life's a rollercoaster, and guess what? I've been on one heck of a thrilling ride! Let me give you the cliff notes – from nursing, to HR, teaching, and now the corporate world.
So, picture this: I started my journey thinking I'd be the next Daisy Award winner, rocking the nurse life. But life, always the joker, had a different plan in mind. One day, it hit me like a ton of bricks – or more like a ton of F's. I needed a new major. I was failing, and had to face the harsh reality that this whole nursing thing, simply was not for me. After tons of reasearch, I wanted to dive headfirst into the world of Human Resource Management.
No biggie, right? I switched majors and boom, I was an HR enthusiast. Changed those D's and F's-to A's and B's in no time. I was made for this shit. Armed with my fancy Bachelor's degree, I was all set to conquer the corporate world. Except not.....the oil field tanked and the job market sucked. A career in HR was not looking promising for me. It spat me out like a kid rejecting brussels sprouts. I should probably mention that I was being super impatient.
In my quest for an HR gig, I ended up as a substitute teacher. Crazy, right? But here's the kicker – I fell in love with teaching! Who'd have thought? But in reality, I think I fell in love with substitute teaching, because boy did I found out quick that it was not what I thought. But lets save that for another time.
6 months after snagging my Masters in Educational Technology, I waved goodbye to the classroom. Now? I'm loving going to work everyday! Who knew it was possible to actually not dread going to work everyday? I'm absolutely loving life outside the classroom. I am 4 months in, and haven't had the Sunday scaries a single time yet! Talk about a 180-degree turn, right? Or is it a 360? Idk but its oposite of what it was before okay.
My journey's like a crazy rollercoaster, and I'm the daredevil on it. Life's full of twists, turns, and unexpected loops, but it's also where we discover our true passions. I'm here to remind you that it's never too late to change lanes and chase your dreams. I've learned that resilience, adaptability, and the ability to laugh at life's curveballs are the real superpowers. Let me tell you my story. Learn from my mistakes, take my advice, and choose YOU. If this blog helps only 1 person take a leap of faith towards happiness, then I have completed my misson.
This blog will offer you several pieces to my story. How did I do it? What can teachers even do outside of the classroom? How the heck did I manage to do this with an infant and a husband? I will offer you all the details, including time saving hacks and products that helped make life easier for our busy days.
Stay tuned, buckle up, and get ready to get motivated!
